We have set this up this hub specifically for people who own or run small businesses in West Sussex. Originally only for retail and hospitality businesses, the remit was expanded in 2022 to include any small independent business in the county. The aim is to develop a community for businesses owners.
The online Hub is place where you can find out about and directly access a wide range of business support, advice, training courses, one-to-one advice from a range of business specialists.
If you run a local sole trader, Limited company, Partnership or Community Interest Company, you should join.
This service has received funding from the the following councils in West Sussex:
- Horsham District Council
- Adur and Worthing Councils
- Mid Sussex District Council
- Arun District Council
- Crawley District Council
- Chichester District Council
This funding has enabled us to create and run this hub as a resource for the owners, leaders and managers of small businesses across the county.
We want to build a community of likeminded people willing to share experiences and ideas that will inspire, motivate and enable us all to achieve the goals we have for our businesses.
We will provide some resources, which I hope will be of value. But I want to thank you for joining and for being an active contributor. Share you challenges. Respond with ideas. Let us know if there are resources or events you would like us to organise. We will always respond. Together we can make it possible.
With tons of content everywhere it has become harder to find what you are really looking for. Which is why we have sifted out the irrelevant stuff, and brought together packages of content, help and advice organised into themes and categories designed to add real value from day one.
And we are open to your ideas. We will be organising workshops and webinars (both online and in-person) through until 2025, and you can shape what is included. You just need to talk to us!
Access if free. There is no cost to join the Hub or to join any of the workshops or courses.
You need to join!
Once you have signed up to the Hub, take a look around. You'll find a section with several courses and you can see who else is a member.
You will be asked to introduce yourself on the platform, which is a chance to tell people both about you and an opportunity to subtly plug your business.
You can post comments and offer advice to others. Please 'cheer' comments you like, celebrate good things. Keep it positive.
There will be Groups you can see, and some you may not see. Some Groups you may be able to join, some you will need to be invited to join. You will be invited to join the groups that will be most useful to you as we get to know you.
